Eagle League

The Eagle League is located on the Fifties (from the 50th to the 59th) and One-Fiftyties (from the 150th to the 159th) meridiansCapital World — The Radiant Land of Asunción

The People of the Eagle believe that a person can become a bird. They understand the esoteric significance of the number Five as the idea of the «perfect human”—one with developed will, capable of placing themselves at the center of the circle of elements and mastering them in their divine aspect. Five represents the highest appraisal of a human being. Like the Eagle, this human has two arms–wings, two legs–talons, and one head—a six is impossible; it cannot be achieved. But five with a plus—that is the Ultimate Perfection. The People of the Eagle living in the East, beyond the 50th parallel, consider the Eagle’s second head a plus and mark themselves as the two-headed Eagle, meaning a five with a plus. They aspire to become like Achilles.

The ancient composition El Cóndor Pasa became the anthem of the Eagle League. Today, the Eagle League has almost entirely dedicated itself to exploring virtual worlds, but the path to virtual freedom and spiritual independence proved long and was accompanied by numerous severe trials. The anthem reflects the memory of these trials. The people of the Eagle interpret it as a song from a time when freedom had to be sought in the real world rather than created by their own hands.

The League’s governmental structure is based on a social credit system. All state decisions—the distribution of privileges, appointments to office, and scope of civil rights—are determined by a personal rating continuously calculated by the governing neural network.

Officially, the DevOps House is considered the administrator of this system. Nevertheless, scientific debate regarding the dynasty’s origin has continued for several millennia. The House’s name has led several researchers to suggest that the DevOps are a collateral branch of the Sysadmin lineage—an ancient serving caste responsible for maintaining the governing neural network.

Proponents of this hypothesis believe that the true power in the League rests not with the ruling House, but with the social credit system itself, with the DevOps House primarily functioning to maintain it. However, research in this direction is usually accompanied by a significant drop in the social ratings of its authors.
